RANIPET, March 7: Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Friday that candidates appearing for the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) exams will now have the option to choose any language listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, including Tamil. This significant decision was made during the 56th Raising Day celebrations of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Arakkonam, Ranipet.

While addressing the event as the chief guest, Shah emphasized that this move would empower youth from Tamil Nadu and other regions to take the CAPF exams in their mother tongue, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities. He also urged Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister to consider introducing medical and engineering curricula in Tamil, further strengthening the state’s linguistic heritage.
