IMPHAL, July 1: Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor of Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, called on Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan to discuss the university’s latest initiatives and developments.
During the meeting, Dr. Mishra briefed the Governor on CAU’s efforts in advancing early childhood nutrition, health economics, and the quantification of health indicators. He also shared updates on the academic progress and innovative research being pursued at the university. Governor Bhalla praised CAU’s contributions, emphasizing the importance of continued focus on child health and nutrition during formative years.
In a separate engagement, a delegation from Uripok Apunba Lup, led by S. Tekendrajit Singh, met with the Governor and submitted a memorandum highlighting various civic grievances faced by residents of the Uripok Assembly Constituency. Chief among the concerns were the deteriorating conditions of local roads, non-functional streetlights, and frequent traffic congestion caused by the movement of heavy vehicles through residential zones.
Governor Bhalla gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured that their concerns would be relayed to the relevant authorities for prompt and necessary action.
