SENAPATI, Nov 13: The Centre has rolled out a significant development programme for the Maram Tribe under the Prime Minister’s Jan Man Scheme, a flagship initiative dedicated to uplifting vulnerable and particularly marginalised communities across India.
As part of the scheme, an annual allocation of ₹9 crore has been sanctioned to support a range of welfare projects. These include the implementation of PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana), PM Ayushman Bharat, and the construction of Anganwadi Centres, community halls, and water storage facilities. Additionally, funds have been earmarked for the preservation of the Maram community’s traditional Morung, cultural heritage, and ancestral practices.

Addressing the gathering, Shri B.L. Santosh Ji, National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), remarked that the government’s development agenda is guided by the ethos of “Development for everyone – together we trust progress.” He noted that these projects aim not only to foster infrastructural advancement but also to promote empowerment and self-reliance within tribal communities.
Emphasising the vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), Shri Santosh advocated for Swadeshi values and the Vocal for Local movement as vital forces for achieving sustainable development. He also urged citizens to stay aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision and tune in to Mann Ki Baat, broadcast on the last Sunday of each month, to stay informed and inspired by national initiatives.
The event concluded with a strong reaffirmation of inclusivity, cultural preservation, and collective progress—signifying another meaningful step in the Centre’s sustained commitment to the welfare and empowerment of India’s tribal communities.
