Chanchui Khayi to Highlight Manipur Crisis on the National Stage

Imphal, Sept 26:  Chanchui Khayi is set to represent Manipur in the 60th Femina Miss India pageant, with the grand finale set for October 16 in Mumbai. Chanchui aims to use this national platform to highlight the ongoing issues in her home state.

On Wednesday, Chanchui was honored by the Miss Spring Organizing Committee, The Indigenous Foundation (TIF) at a homecoming event held at the Classic Grande in Imphal.

In a media interaction during the event, she expressed her honor in representing Manipur on the national stage, stating,“Being chosen to represent my state is a tremendous honor, but more importantly, it’s a responsibility. I represent not just one community, but all communities in Manipur.” She also emphasized that she would share the stories of her people, conveying their pain and suffering to a broader audience.

The event was also attended by the All-Manipur United Club Organization (AMUCO), All Naga Students’ Association Manipur (ANSAM), and the Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) and supporters who came together to celebrate Chanchui’s achievement.

Chanchui, from Ukhrul District, is a postgraduate in Performing Arts with a specialization in Drama and Theatre Arts. She has gained recognition for her talents in singing, dancing, and acting, earning the Sushma Swaraj Award for Distinguished Women Achievers. Her dedication extends to advancing child and youth development programs, inspiring the younger generation to follow their dreams.

Her impressive track record includes being crowned Miss Lily in 2019, winning the K-Pop India Contest 2020 in the Solo Singing Category, placing as first runner-up at Miss Northeast India 2019, and being among the winners of the 19th Sunsilk Mega Miss North East in 2023.

The Femina Miss India 2024 grand finale will feature contestants from all 29 states and union territories competing for the coveted Femina Miss India title.
