Chandel, October 12: The Sub-National Immunization Day (SNID) 2025 was launched in Chandel as part of the National Programme for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI). The district-level launching program, initiated by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Manipur, was held at Old Japhou Market, District Headquarters, Chandel.


Chief Medical Officer of Chandel, Dr. Joyson Matthew Monsang, SDC/HQ Mothel Saka, and District Immunization Officer Dr. B. Chingdeihnieng graced the occasion as distinguished guests. In his address, Dr. Monsang highlighted the significance of the Polio Vaccine and the IPPI program in India. He emphasized the importance of proper hygiene and sanitation and appealed to parents to ensure their children receive two drops of Oral Poliovirus Vaccine (OPV) during the campaign.
Dr. Monsang assured that the Health Society in Chandel would strive to reach every corner of the district to administer the vaccine. The program was attended by health workers, ASHA facilitators, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and other community mobilizers, including parents and caregivers. Following the launch, the dignitaries administered the polio vaccine to children present, marking the beginning of the immunization drive.
