PRAYAGRAJ, Feb 6: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, accompanied by some of his cabinet colleagues and MLAs, participated in the holy ritual at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj today, taking a dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati rivers. This sacred act is a symbolic gesture of devotion and purification.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), CM Singh expressed his prayers for the “peace, prosperity, and well-being” of the nation, as well as for the people of Manipur, which has been grappling with unrest since May 2023, following violent ethnic clashes between the Meitei community and the Kuki tribes.

Standing at the holy confluence, CM Singh reflected on the significance of the moment, saying, “As the cool waters touch the soul, they wash away not just the dust of the body but the burdens of countless lifetimes.” Wearing a traditional white dhoti and stole, the chief minister continued, “With folded hands and a heart full of devotion, I pray for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of our great nation and the beloved people of Manipur.”
