IMPHAL, Feb 18: Manipur’s Kangpokpi district based Committee on Tribal Unity (COTU) has vehemently and strongly condemned the series of cowardly and premeditated attacks at the residences of Pu Henlianthang Thanglet, Chairman of the Kuki-Zo Council, and Pu Ginza Vualzong, Spokesperson of the Kuki-Zo Council.
In a statement, COTU said it “bemoans the unabated attempt on the lives and properties of leaders of Kuki Zo at this critical juncture where maximum moral support is required to see through our political destiny cutting across our ideological divide.”
It said “the recent incidents on the 12th and 15th of February 2026 is nothing but to instill fear and suspicion within us so that our political aspiration be derail and to belittle our years of advocacy on Separate Administration from the biased state administration.”
COTU said it would “beseech all those individuals or organizations involved in the incidents to shunt such cowardice actions in future but rather to come upfront so that we all can reason together to bridge the gap within ourselves.”
