SENAPATI, March 24: On March 23, 2025, at approximately 10:30 AM, a joint team consisting of Senapati Police Special Operation Team, Senapati Women Police, D-78 CRPF, and B-109 CRPF Coy QRT conducted random frisking and checks along National Highway 2, near Mt. Everest College, below Liangmai Taphou in Senapati District.
During the operation, two individuals were arrested in possession of a large quantity of ganja. The arrested suspects were identified as Kh. Zaheer Khan (21), son of Md. Islamuddin, a resident of Golapati Mayai Leikai, Imphal East District, and his wife, Mrs. Hepuni Doveinai (19), also from Golapati Mayai Leikai, Imphal East District.
The couple was found in possession of 24.69 kgs of ganja, which was seized by the authorities. Following their arrest, the couple, along with the seized items, were handed over to Senapati Police Station for further legal action.
A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (ND & PS) Act at Senapati Police Station.
