TAMENGLONG, Oct 28: In preparation for the upcoming 18th edition of the Tamenglong Orange Festival, Deputy Commissioner Dr. L. Angshim Dangshawa, IAS, chaired a coordination meeting on Tuesday at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat, Tamenglong Headquarters. The meeting aimed to ensure smooth planning and execution of one of Manipur’s most anticipated cultural and agricultural events.
The session was attended by key district officials, including Superintendent of Police (SP) Lanmiyo Luikham, SDO Tamenglong D. Meidinbui (MCS), CEO ADC Tamenglong Kachamthai F. Gangmei (MCS), DFO Tamenglong Kh. Hitler, and various other district-level officers.
Announcing that the Orange Festival will be held from December 17 to 19, Dr. Dangshawa, who also serves as Chairman of the festival, urged all departments and officials to work collectively to ensure its grand success.
To facilitate better organization, 22 sub-committees have been constituted to manage different aspects of the festival — ranging from logistics and security to cultural and agricultural events.
This year’s three-day celebration promises to be vibrant, featuring a Best Orange Grower contest, Orange Queen contest, camping and adventure activities at scenic tourist spots, musical nights, “Tamenglong Got Talent” competition, and a seminar for orange growers aimed at promoting sustainable horticultural practices.
