IMPHAL, Dec 18: Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera on Thursday discussed issues related with prevailing security situation in the state and the role of the para military force with Manipur governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, a statement from Assam Rifles said.

Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera called on Governor of Manipur Ajay Kumar Bhalla at the Lok Bhawan, Imphal on December 18, it said.

“During the meeting, issues pertaining to the prevailing security situation and the role of Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and stability in the state were discussed” it said.

The interaction reaffirmed the strong coordination between civil administration and security forces towards ensuring lasting peace in Manipur, it said.
