SENAPATI, Nov 10: Aiming to inspire young learners and nurture a love for reading, the district-level Reading Mela 2024–2025 for Classes 1 and 2 was organized by the Zonal Education Office (ZEO) Senapati in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha Elementary, Manipur. The event was held on Monday at SM Sha Hall, Rikhumai Taphou, Senapati.
In the Class 1 category, Paivanai of Koide Besho UPS secured the first prize, followed by Kavala of Katomei Centre UPS in second place, and Sivam Makhrelui PS in third. Consolation prizes went to Sunder of Makhrelui PS and Rita of Rikhumai Taphou PS.
In the Class 2 category, Ratsii Shanai of Koide Besho UPS won first prize, Patrush Peter of Rikhumai Taphou PS claimed second, and Alphina of Katomei Centre UPS took third place. Consolation prizes were awarded to Julie of Makhrelui PS and Vahzo P of Purul Akutpa UPS.
A total of 17 students from five government upper primary and primary schools, along with their teachers, participated in the programme. Winners of the district-level competition will advance to the state-level competition.
