MARAM, March 20: The District-Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 commenced on Thursday with a grand inauguration at Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram, highlighting the crucial role of youth in national policymaking.
The event was inaugurated by Fr. Devassy Palatty with God’s invocation, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by esteemed guests and dignitaries. The welcome note was delivered by Fr. Dr. K.O. Sebastian, who also felicitated the Chief Guests and Guests of Honor and their team members.
The event was further enriched by the presence of Special Guest Shri Francis Ngajokpa, Former Minister, who delivered an inspiring talk, urging participants to engage confidently in nation-building.

Following his address, other distinguished dignitaries, including Miss Sheveine MCS (SDO/BDO Mao-Maram Tadubi), A. Saloni Tony (President, SDSA), Hingba Wilson K. (President, NMYSO), and W. Paulina Monsang (Deputy Director, NYK Senapati), delivered short speeches on the theme “One Nation, One Election: Paving the Way for Viksit Bharat.” They encouraged participants to actively engage in discussions shaping India’s democratic future.
Mr. John Britto, the Programme Coordinator, provided insightful guidance on the parliamentary competition, ensuring participants were well-prepared. The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Sr. Sania Rosemary, appreciating the dignitaries, organizers, and participants.
The parliamentary session commenced in the Conference Hall, where 70 out of 150 participants eloquently shared their views on electoral reforms. The jury, including Miss Sheveine MCS, A. Saloni Tony, Hingba Wilson K., Miss Mary Saza, and Fr. Shilanand, praised their enthusiasm, clarity, and commitment to the Viksit Bharat mission.
