Senapati, October 7: A joint team comprising personnel from the SOT Senapati, B-109 CRPF, and Maram Police Station, under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Senapati, conducted a random frisking and checking operation along National Highway-2 at Kabinam village under Maram Police Station, Senapati district, at around 8:30 AM today.
During the operation, a red WagonR car bearing registration number DL-8-CP-7014 was found moving suspiciously. The vehicle was stopped for checking, and upon frisking, the car was found to be driven by one M. Leoshiru (26), son of Moses, a resident of TNK village, Senapati district. He was accompanied by Thaongao (28), son of Rubin, from Phaibung Khunou village, also of Senapati district.

On further inspection of the vehicle, the joint team discovered 10 soap cases suspected to contain brown sugar concealed inside the dashboard of the car. The matter was immediately intimated to the Executive Magistrate. Subsequently, the suspected contraband and the vehicle were seized in the presence of the Executive Magistrate and witnesses.
A case has been registered against them under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (ND&PS) Act, 1985, at Maram Police Station.
