Imphal, Oct 4: Ukhrul district in Manipur was struck by an earthquake early Friday morning. The National Centre of Seismology (NCS) reported that the tremor, measuring a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale occurred at 7:02 AM IST.

The earthquake’s epicenter was located at latitude 25.04 N and longitude 94.20 E, at a depth of 30 kilometers.

Shortly after, at 7:10 AM IST, a 3.3-magnitude earthquake hit Cooch Behar in West Bengal. This tremor had a shallower depth of 5 kilometers, with the epicenter situated at latitude 26.28 N and longitude 89.13 E.

No immediate reports of damage or injuries have been received.
