SENAPATI, Nov 9: Foundation for Maraoni Orphans and Destitute Upliftment (FMODU) observed its 11th Foundation day cum felicitation programme was held at its FMODU children home Veiwland colony Senapati on Sunday. Two former (first batch) students of FMODU were felicitated namely R. Livingson for clearing AIIMS CRE MTS examination and S.A. Kaine Angam for clearing SCC CPO Examination both from Khongdei village.
Livingson in his address encouraged the students to be patient, believe in oneself and God to be successful in life. He advised the young students to utilize their time wisely and hard work. He reminded them that time flies so fast unknowingly and has to use it rightly. He challenged the students’ community to improve and progress on a daily basis with big dreams and try to give their best. Livingson also reminded the young students to be grateful to God for the privilege they get in FMODU and bear fruit in life.
Kaine Angam in her brief address urged the students’ community not to be discouraged when failing in studies or because of their present status. Sharing her life story, she encouraged the students’ community to keep trying and work harder to achieve something in life. She advised the students to obey their warden and teachers for their betterment. Angam reminded the young people that they are privileged to get the opportunity to stay in FMODU and study, stating that many people do not get what they get. While challenging the students’ community, she expressed her desire to see many successful persons in future and get a felicitation programme like them in future.
Dr. A.S. Graceson Marao the founder of FMODU in his address extends hearty congratulations to R. Livingson and S.A. Kaine Angam for clearing the competitive exam who were the first batch of this children home. He also shared the vision and objective of Foundation for Maraoni Orphans and Destitute Upliftment children home.
On the sideline of the programme, Dr. A.S. Graceson Marao said alone with his wife K.V. Khulo started this children’s home in the year 2014. Marao said he took the decision to start such children at home with the vision to help the poor, orphans and destitute children while he was in Class 7. Dr. Marao said his mother died while delivering him on November 9 1971 and his father was killed by the Indian army during the Oinam incident 1987. He said the foundation day also coincided with his birthday.
It may be mentioned that many students who stayed in this children’s home are doing well in different professions.
