Imphal, August 14: Former Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, joined by BJP state president A Sharda Devi, led a massive Tiranga Rally at Luwangsangbam in Imphal East on Thursday to celebrate India’s 79th Independence Day.
The rally, which began from N Biren Singh’s residence, drew large participation from residents, BJP workers, and people from various communities, including supporters from the Heingang Assembly constituency. The procession passed through Khabam Lamkhai before returning to its starting point, filling the streets with vibrant displays of patriotism.
Addressing the media, Singh underscored the importance of unity and national pride, noting that campaigns like Har Ghar Tiranga help foster patriotism and solidarity among citizens. He also spoke about Manipur’s development strides and called for sustained efforts to strengthen both the state and the nation.
BJP leaders, office bearers, and karyakartas actively participated in the event, which concluded with a resounding message of unity, pride, and collective responsibility toward building a stronger India.
