IMPHAL, July 11: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, co-chaired a high-level review meeting at Raj Bhavan, Imphal, on Friday. The meeting focused on assessing the progress and bottlenecks in ongoing projects under the DoNER Ministry and the North Eastern Council (NEC).
Union Minister Scindia, who attended the session virtually, emphasized the urgent need to fast-track distressed and priority projects across key sectors. These include handloom and handicraft revival, Polo and tourism development, transport and connectivity upgrades, palm oil cultivation under the National Mission on Edible Oils–Oil Palm (NMEO-OP), logistics infrastructure, and the development of vibrant villages.

Chief Secretary P.K. Singh presented a detailed report on the status of current initiatives, outlining major achievements, gaps in execution, and areas requiring immediate attention. Scindia also reviewed the action taken on key outcomes from the previous review held on April 17, 2025, providing targeted feedback to departments for timely intervention.
Governor Bhalla underscored the urgency of timely project completion, urging officials to operate in mission mode and deliver tangible results. He called for a coordinated, results-oriented approach to eliminate implementation bottlenecks and maximize benefits for local communities.
Among the participants were the Secretary to the Governor, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), senior administrative secretaries, and NEC representatives, many of whom joined virtually.
