SENAPATI, April 24: The General Headquarters of the Naga Army, under the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN), has strongly denied allegations linking the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) to recent acts of arson in Manipur’s eastern border areas, specifically in Gampal and Haijang villages under Kamjong District.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the organisation addressed the recent surge in violence affecting the eastern part of the state bordering Myanmar. “The recent act of arson committed upon the denizens of Gampal and Haijang Village under Kamjong District by some unknown miscreants is lamentable. In this connection, the wild speculations circulating in the social media, suspecting the hands of NSCN stands condemned out rightly,” it stated.
The GPRN categorically refuted any involvement of the Naga Army in the incident, urging the public not to be misled by “malicious disinformation.” It assured that the truth behind the incident would eventually come to light. shall be exposed sooner or later.
“It is hereby clarified that Naga Army has no involvement in the unfortunate incident. All concerned are advised not to be carried away by such malicious disinformation. The conspiracy surrounding the incident shall be exposed sooner or later,” the statement added.
Reaffirming its principles, the GPRN stated, “We believe in the high ideals of truth, justice and peace, and we shall continue to work for the welfare and security of all communities living in Nagalim without any prejudices.”
