Guwahati to Host FMSCI Indian National Rally Sprint Championship on Sunday

GUWAHATI, Nov 23: The FMSCI Indian National Rally Sprint Championship (INRSC) for two-wheelers is set to make its way to Guwahati, Assam, for its East Zone round on Sunday. The event, known as The NEMA Guwahati Sprint Rally, will be hosted at the picturesque PRP Valley, which is located 60 kilometers outside Guwahati. Nestled in a rubber plantation, the rally promises a challenging experience through hilly terrain featuring steep inclines and sudden dips, offering a true test for the riders.

This rally serves as the final round of the qualifying stages for the INRSC-2W, making it a crucial opportunity for competitors who are vying for a national championship title. Approximately 80 participants from across Northeast India are expected to take part in the event, with notable riders such as Hansraj Saikia, Banteilang Jyrwa, Paomin Vaiphei, Madhurjya Jyoti Rabha, Siddhartha Saikia, Kaustav Kalita, Jayden W, and Darren Kharkonghar being among the favorites to watch.

In addition to the 11 classes of the National Championship, a separate Sprint Support Rally will be organized for local youth, including eight classes with their own trophies and prizes. This initiative aims to introduce young riders to the exhilarating world of rallying and provides them the opportunity to engage in competitive motorsport in an accessible setting.

Farad Bhathena, the Promoter of the INRSC, expressed enthusiasm for the event: “We are extremely excited to bring the FMSCI Indian National Rally Sprint Championship to the Northeast, particularly to Guwahati, which has always been a hub for motorsport enthusiasts in the region. This round promises an exciting challenge for the riders, with the unique hilly terrain and varying conditions of PRP Valley. We are also thrilled to have NEMA as our local partner, and the involvement of local youth in the Sprint Support Rally will help foster a greater connection to the sport in this region.”

The NEMA Guwahati Sprint Rally is being organized by FB Motorsports in partnership with the North Eastern Motorsports Association (NEMA). Established in 1993, NEMA has a rich legacy in the region’s motorsports, having successfully organized various events, including Dirt Track, Motocross, Rallying, and Hill Climbs. This rally continues NEMA’s commitment to promoting motorsports across Northeast India.

As the competition heats up, notable riders such as Hansraj Saikia, Banteilang Jyrwa, and Madhurjya Jyoti Rabha are eager to take part in the final qualifying round. Saikia remarked, “This is a crucial round for all of us. The terrain here is a true test of our skills. The opportunity to race under such challenging conditions makes this rally one of the most exciting events of the season.”

FB Motorsports has collaborated closely with NEMA to ensure the event’s success. The season will conclude with the final round of the INRSC-2W, planned for Pune on December 14-15, where the top riders from each zone will compete for the esteemed national championship title.
