SENAPATI, Feb 19: Th. Visale was crowned as the Northern King of Laii (Vafiimai) Village in a grand coronation ceremony held on February 18 in Vafiimai, a village in the northernmost part of Senapati district.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Salew Pfokreni, the Makhel Chief, who bestowed his blessings upon the ceremony. Silas Zho, the President of the Senapati District Chief Association, also attended the occasion, further highlighting the importance of the event.
The ceremony saw an unprecedented turnout, with Poumai frontal organizations, headmen, and village chiefs from neighboring villages in Nagaland participating in the event. Representatives from the Tangkhul, Mao, Maram, and Poumai communities also attended, marking the occasion as a significant cultural gathering.
The coronation ceremony of Th. Visale witnessed the largest gathering ever recorded for the coronation of a Naga king or chief, solidifying its place in history as a landmark event for the community.
