The renamed road — an 835-metre-long, 50-foot-wide stretch — is located near Kailash Colony Metro Station and passes alongside the Bodoland Guest House. In addition to the renaming, a statue of Bodofa will be unveiled at the Kailash Colony roundabout, marking the 35th death anniversary of the revered leader.

In a press conference, ABSU President Dipen Boro said, “Bodofa Upendranath Brahma dedicated his life to building an inclusive society where people could live with dignity and secure their rightful place. His ideas continue to guide generations towards peaceful change and collective progress. The naming of a road and the installation of his statue in the heart of the national capital is a proud moment for all of us. It stands as a lasting tribute to his work and ideals.”

Boro also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for their support in fulfilling this long-standing demand.

The recognition underscores Bodofa’s significant influence in empowering communities and serves as a reminder of his lifelong commitment to justice, peace, and unity. The event is expected to bring together leaders, citizens, and students to celebrate his enduring legacy.
