NEW DELHI, March 22: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a gradual fall in maximum temperatures by 3-4 degrees Celsius over East India in the next three days. Along with the temperature drop, the IMD has also forecast thunderstorms, lightning, and squally winds across Eastern and Northeast India till tomorrow. Additionally, a fresh spell of rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is expected over many parts of South Peninsular India during the same period.
According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are forecast for East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha today. These weather conditions will continue over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura for the next four days. In South India, similar conditions are expected to persist over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Interior Karnataka during the next four days.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather conditions are anticipated to prevail over parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, as well as Konkan, Goa, and coastal Gujarat today. The IMD has also warned that maximum temperatures in these regions are expected to fall gradually by 3-4 degrees Celsius over East India over the next three days.
