SRI NAGAR, April 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have announced a ₹20 lakh reward for information leading to the arrest of three key Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists, including two Pakistan nationals and one local, who are suspected of carrying out the deadly April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 civilian lives. In a statement, the Anantnag Police named the wanted individuals as Adil Hussain Thoker, Ali Bhai, and Hashim Musa, calling for credible information on their whereabouts to bring them to justice.
The attack, which took place in the picturesque Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam, was one of the deadliest in recent years. Armed terrorists opened fire on unarmed tourists, leaving a trail of destruction and loss of life. In response, security forces have launched a large-scale operation in Pahalgam, employing drones, helicopters, electronic surveillance, and sniffer dogs to track down and neutralize the attackers.
At least three other anti-terror operations are underway in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Basantgarh, Poonch, and Kulgam, in the aftermath of the massacre. Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the attack site on Wednesday, issuing a strong warning to the attackers and their handlers while reinforcing the government’s commitment to countering terrorism.
In a show of retaliation, India has taken several significant actions, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, closing the Attari border crossing indefinitely, and expelling Pakistani nationals from India. Furthermore, India has reduced its diplomatic presence in Pakistan by scaling down staff and declaring Pakistan’s military attaché persona non grata.
