IMPHAL, May 3: In a significant operation, central security forces and Manipur police jointly discovered and dismantled an insurgent camp in the Imphal West district. The operation, which took place on Friday in Phayeng Makha Leikai under the Lamsang police station—located on the border with Kangpokpi—led to the recovery of five official flags belonging to the proscribed People’s Liberation Army (PLA), along with a large cache of firearms and explosives.

The operation, which lasted between three to four hours, successfully uncovered the hidden insurgent camp and its various contents. Although no arrests were made during the operation, the security forces seized a variety of military and civilian items from the site.
