Senapati, September 29: Lao Radiant Hr. Sec. School successfully concluded its much-anticipated Annual Cultural Day cum Sports Week, held from September 22 to 27, with a vibrant celebration of culture, sportsmanship, and unity.
The week-long event commenced with the Cultural Day on September 22, a truly colorful affair showcasing the rich diversity of the school community, which represents 15 tribes and communities. The day was filled with folk songs, traditional dances, and indigenous games, delighting both participants and spectators.
In his welcome address, Principal Mr. Kh. Silas extended a warm greeting to all and commended both students and teachers for their enthusiastic participation and effort in donning traditional attire. He fondly recalled the ways of the foreparents, encouraging everyone to preserve and honor their cultural heritage amid the changing times.
Following the Cultural Day, the school embarked on an exciting Sports Week, officially inaugurated by Major Shivinder Singh Gill, Company Commander of the 16th Assam Rifles, Senapati, who graced the opening ceremony as the special guest. In his address, Major Gill inspired the students to embrace resilience, consistency, and perseverance, not only in sports but also in their daily lives.
Throughout the week, the four houses – Brahmaputra, Indus, Sutlej, and Ganga – competed fiercely in a variety of sporting events, fostering team spirit and healthy competition.
The grand finale on September 27 featured exhilarating performances by the students, marking a fitting end to the celebrations. Ganga House emerged as the overall champion of this year’s sports meet, earning loud cheers and applause from the crowd.
The Annual Cultural Day cum Sports Week was a memorable success, highlighting Lao Radiant School’s commitment to holistic education that nurtures both cultural appreciation and physical excellence.
