Manipur: Four Arrested in Major Drug Bust in Kangpokpi District

Kangpokpi, July 24: In a significant crackdown on narcotics trafficking, four individuals were arrested on Thursday in Tumuyon Khullen village, under Kangpokpi Police Station in Manipur, for their alleged involvement in drug peddling activities.

Acting on credible intelligence inputs regarding suspected narcotics being trafficked and stored in the area, a joint team of Kangpokpi Police, Senapati Police, and battalions of the 112 CRPF and 94 CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Tumuyon Khullen village.

During the operation, the security forces seized a substantial quantity of contraband and related materials. The following items were recovered from the possession of the accused:
• 273 soap cases containing suspected heroin, weighing approximately 3.5 kilograms
• Unaccounted cash amounting to Rs. 99,09,850
• Seven mobile phones believed to be used in trafficking operations
• Two four-wheelers (Tata DI vehicle and a Hyundai Creta)
• Financial documents and other stores allegedly used in the drug trade

The arrested individuals have been identified as:
1. Ms. S. Poubinah Teinamei (31), daughter of Kapong Shakpa Teinamei of T. Khullen, Kangpokpi district
2. Mrs. PF Adaphro (34), wife of TK Rocky, of T. Khullen, Kangpokpi district
3. Mrs. S. Boibina (29), wife of Moses, of T. Khullen, Kangpokpi district
4. Mr. Lungdinibou Thiumei (52), son of Mahenthui Thuimei, of Khundong Khunkhaiba, Tamenglong district

A case has been registered at Kangpokpi Police Station, and further investigation is currently underway.
