IMPHAL, May 2: Manipur Governor chaired a high-level review meeting at the Raj Bhavan in Imphal on Friday to evaluate the ongoing progress of the Indo-Myanmar border fencing project. The meeting aimed to address key challenges and accelerate the implementation of the strategic infrastructure initiative to bolster security and improve border management.
During the meeting, officials from the Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) provided a detailed briefing to the Governor, highlighting critical components such as land acquisition, development of approach roads, existing security concerns, and manpower availability essential for the project’s timely execution.
The comprehensive review was attended by the state’s top administrative and security officials, including the Chief Secretary, Security Advisor, Director General of Police (DGP), Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), Principal Secretary (Agriculture), Home Commissioner, Secretary to the Governor, and representatives from Assam Rifles.
Additionally, Deputy Commissioners from the five border districts participated in the discussion via video conference.
