Manipur Governor Bhalla Reviews National Highway Projects

IMPHAL, March 5: Manipur Governor, Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Wednesday conducted a review meeting on the progress of national highway projects in the state following a high-level security meeting at Raj Bhavan. The review focused on assessing the status of ongoing infrastructure projects and addressing the challenges hindering their timely completion.

The meeting included senior officials such as M.S. Deval, Executive Director of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), who provided an in-depth briefing on the construction work underway across Manipur. He highlighted key obstacles affecting the progress of these projects and emphasized the need for prompt intervention to resolve the issues.

Governor Bhalla instructed officials to implement necessary measures to tackle these challenges and ensure the completion of the highway projects within the set timelines. He underscored the importance of efficient execution, which would not only improve connectivity but also foster economic development across the state.

Additionally, the meeting was attended by IG CRPF Rajendra Narayan Das, Additional PCCF, Secretary of the Manipur Land Resources Department, and other senior officials who provided further insights into the situation.

In a separate engagement, Governor Bhalla met with members of the Red Cross from the Senapati District Branch at Raj Bhavan. The Red Cross members shared their logistical challenges, resource shortages, and difficulties in coordination while carrying out humanitarian efforts in the region.

The Governor praised the efforts of the Red Cross members and assured them that their concerns would be addressed, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting humanitarian initiatives and enhancing disaster response mechanisms in the state.
