Imphal, August 13: Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Tuesday flagged off the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign Bike Rally at Hatta Kangjeibung, Imphal, as part of the run-up to the 79th Independence Day. Organised by Manipur Police, the rally aimed to inspire patriotic spirit and encourage citizens to hoist the national flag. Covering over 30 kilometres, bikers concluded their ride at the Khongjom War Memorial in Thoubal district.

The event was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel, Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, Director General of Police Rajiv Singh, and other civil and police officials. Later, the governor attended the Tiranga Concerts at the Palace Auditorium of the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), which featured cultural performances celebrating India’s unity in diversity.

Highlighting the role of young people as “agents of change,” Bhalla stressed the importance of youth leadership in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and combating global challenges, including climate change, HIV/AIDS, and public health threats.

Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel urged collective action to eliminate stigma around HIV/AIDS and achieve the 95-95-95 target for HIV control this year, while Health Commissioner Sumant Singh noted that the AI-assisted X-ray machines would aid in early TB detection.

The event saw participation from officials of the Health department and other government departments.
