Imphal, August 1: In a significant push towards digital governance, Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla today officially launched the state’s e-Gazette Portal, marking a transition to fully paperless publication of official government notifications.
The portal — http://egazettemanipur.mn.gov.in — will now serve as the sole platform for the issuance of the Manipur Gazette in an electronic format. With this launch, the Manipur government will cease the physical printing and sale of gazette copies starting August 1, 2025.
Designed to improve transparency, efficiency, and public accessibility, the initiative is part of the state’s broader digital governance mission. The Directorate of Printing and Stationery will be responsible for maintaining the official digital archive of all gazette notifications for administrative and public reference.
Speaking at the launch, Governor Bhalla emphasized the importance of embracing digital tools for sustainable governance. “This move not only supports environmental goals by reducing paper use but also ensures quicker, wider dissemination of official information,” he noted.
Officials believe the e-Gazette will significantly reduce publication delays and improve ease of access for citizens, researchers, and government agencies alike.
