Addressing the gathering, the Governor stressed that the combined energy of youth and the wisdom of elders can form a powerful force to tackle local as well as global challenges. “Dignity, respect, and inclusion for the elderly must be seen as a matter of justice, not charity,” he remarked, calling for greater intergenerational solidarity to build a compassionate and inclusive Manipur. He also lauded the Social Welfare Department for its sustained efforts in implementing welfare schemes that have positively impacted senior citizens across the state.
