IMPHAL, July 21: The Manipur Adventure and Mountain Biking Association (MAAMBA) on Sunday observed International Ride MTB Day with an exhilarating celebration at the foothills of Heingang Marjing Kachin in Manipur’s Imphal East district.
The day-long affair featured inclusive talent hunt programs across women’s, children’s, and men’s elite categories, culminating in a dramatic downhill showdown that captivated both participants and spectators.
Nearly 100 mountain biking enthusiasts from across the state — representing a diverse mix of professionals and hobbyists — converged to embrace the spirit of adventure and eco-conscious recreation.
In the children’s category, young riders Nganba and Mangal emerged as standout performers while the women’s category saw fierce competition, with Urbashi, Basanti, and Leina claiming the top three positions respectively.

All elite male riders and downhill participants were honoured with finishers’ mementos in recognition of their dedication and performance.
MAAMBA extended heartfelt appreciation to all participants for their vibrant engagement and sportsmanship.
The association also expressed its sincere gratitude to Medical Superintendent Dr N Sanjib Singh of Regional Institute of Medical Science, Imphal, for deploying a medical team and ambulance service — ensuring the safety and well-being of all involved in the high-energy outdoor event.
Through this initiative, MAAMBA continues its commitment to promoting adventure sports, nurturing young talent, and fostering a culture of inclusive experiential learning in Manipur.
