SENAPATI, March 5: Manipur was jolted by two earthquakes today, the first of which struck Kamjong at 11:06 am with a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale. The tremors from the earthquake were also felt across several areas in the state and other NE states.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake struck at a depth of 110 km, with its epicenter located at latitude 24.75 N and longitude 94.35 E.
Later in the day, at 12:20 pm, a second earthquake of magnitude 4.1 hit Kamjong, with its epicenter located at latitude 24.70 N and longitude 94.34 E, at a depth of 66 km.
Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties following the quake.
