IMPHAL, April 28: In a major fraud alert, the Manipur Legislative Assembly has exposed the circulation of fake appointment results and forged letters claiming recruitment to various posts. The fabricated documents, dated February 7, 2025, and March 26, 2025, were even published as a news item in the Hueiyen Lanpao News Daily on April 27, 2025, sparking confusion among the public.
Issuing an official clarification, Yumlembam Nikesh Singh, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, categorically stated that no such appointment results or letters had been issued. The secretariat emphasized that the appointment documents being circulated were “totally false and fabricated,” describing the claims as baseless and unfounded.
The fake documents had falsely suggested appointments for several regular posts such as Supervisor-1, MTS-5, FA-2, LDC-1, and Accountant-1 in the Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat. The Assembly authorities immediately took action by filing a formal written complaint at Lamphel Police Station on April 27, 2025.
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at 1:30 p.m. on the same day, and a police investigation was promptly launched to identify and prosecute those responsible for the criminal act. The Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat expressed hope that the State Police Department would expedite the investigation in the interest of the general public, ensuring accountability and protecting the sanctity of public institutions.
Authorities have strongly urged the public to stay cautious and rely only on official notifications from the Assembly Secretariat regarding appointments. The investigation is ongoing, with police working to bring the culprits to justice swiftly.
