CHURACHANDPUR, March 21: A brutal murder of a 10-year-old minor girl, identified as Mandeihkim, has sparked widespread outrage in Churachandpur district, Manipur. Mandeihkim was last seen around 6:30 PM on March 20, and when she failed to return home by 10:00 PM, a search was launched. Her body was found around 11:30 PM, and local authorities have yet to provide an official statement on the investigation.
According to local reports, the girl had injury marks on her neck, and bloodstains were discovered at the scene, raising suspicions that she had been tortured before being killed.
The news of the murder has led to strong condemnation from organizations like the Zomi Mother’s Association (ZMA) and Young Vaiphei Association (YVA), Haupi Block, who have expressed their deep sorrow over the incident. The ZMA condemned the inhuman act and stated that the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death raised suspicions.
The Young Vaiphei Association (YVA), Haupi Block, has demanded a thorough and transparent investigation into the crime, calling on law enforcement agencies to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice. “We demand transparency from the authorities regarding the details of her injuries and cause of death. The perpetrators must be held accountable, and justice must be served,” YVA stated.
