IMPHAL, Nov 30: In a series of operations, Manipur Police arrested seven militants from various outlawed groups, recovering arms, ammunition, and other items. The arrests, conducted on November 28 and 29, targeted members of KCP (PWG), UNLF (Ningon Macha group), and PREPAK (Pro), involved in extortion and other illegal activities.
On November 28, police arrested three active members of the KCP (PWG). They were identified as Chongtham Shyamchandra Singh alias Sanajaoba alias Malemsana (23) from Imphal West District, Maibam Suraj Khan (32), and Boghimayum Sahid Khan (30) from Imphal East District. The trio was involved in extortion and illegal possession of arms. Three 5.56 mm INSAS live rounds, One empty case of .32 ammunition, Three mobile phones, and One wallet were recovered in their possession.

On November 29, the police apprehended Sangomshumpham Warish alias Chingnungakpa (25), an active member of the UNLF (Ningon Macha group), from Lilong Haorou Hangamthabi Salam Makok in Thoubal District. Items seized include one .32 pistol with a magazine and three live rounds, One black holster, Five 9mm live rounds, One mobile handset, and One four-wheeler.

Additionally, in another operation, police arrested Huidrom Priyokumar Singh (37), an active cadre of PREPAK (Pro), from Imphal West District. He was involved in extortion activities targeting local shops in the Imphal area. Recovered items include one mobile handset, One brown wallet containing Rs. 1,150, an Aadhaar card, and 1 two-wheeler.
