IMPHAL, Nov 23: The Manipur Police have arrested two individuals, identified as Khumukcham Raman Singh (45) and Keithellakpam Robi Singh (29), in connection with the damage and arson of properties belonging to elected members on November 16, 2024. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to 34, as 32 individuals were apprehended earlier.
Additionally, safe passage of 375 vehicles carrying essential goods along National Highway-2 (NH-2) was facilitated under strict security measures. Security forces have been deployed at vulnerable locations, with security convoys provided along sensitive stretches to ensure uninterrupted movement of vehicles carrying vital supplies.
A total of 105 Nakas and checkpoints have been installed across various districts of Manipur, covering both hill and valley regions. Despite the extensive checks, no individuals were detained for violations during the operations conducted in the different districts.
