Manipur Police Arrest Two Teachers in Connection with HSLCE 2025 Question Paper Leak

IMPHAL, March 5: Manipur Police have arrested two teachers in connection with the leak of the Physics question paper for the ongoing Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLCE) 2025, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (CoHSEM).

Cyber Crime Superintendent of Police Ningombam John confirmed that the police registered a case at the Cyber Crime Police Station after the leak was discovered. A thorough investigation quickly identified the individuals responsible for the leak, leading to their swift apprehension.

The arrested individuals were Maibam Sunil Singh, 33, a Physics teacher at Paradise English School in Thoubal, and Ningombam Jagdish Singh, 33, a Chemistry teacher at the same school. Sunil Singh, who also works as an Assistant Officer-in-Charge at an exam center, operates a private hostel. Both teachers were arrested on March 3 and March 4, 2025, following proper legal procedures.

Authorities seized incriminating evidence, including mobile phones, from the possession of both suspects. They have been remanded to judicial custody until March 8, 2025, as the investigation continues.
