IMPHAL, Nov 2: Manipur police SI Phuritsabam Romibala Devi of Jiribam District Police has been conferred the Kendriya Grihamantri Dashakta Padak 2025 in the field of Investigation.
The award recognizes her exemplary investigation into a case related to the rape of a 22-year-old differently-abled woman at Sonapur in Jiribam District, police said.
“Displaying exceptional professionalism, empathy, and dedication, the officer ensured a sensitive and thorough investigation by engaging sign language experts, collecting key forensic evidence, and securing DNA confirmation linking the accused to the crime” it said adding “her efforts led to the timely filing of a watertight charge sheet on 27th June 2025, ensuring justice for the survivor.”
Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak’ was initiated under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and guidance of Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah, and was instituted by Ministry of Home Affairs in February, 2024
‘Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak’ is announced on 31st of October every year on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
