Imphal, September 26: In a major breakthrough against the drug menace, Manipur Police seized a large cache of narcotics and arrested one individual during a targeted raid in Imphal East district on September 25.

The arrested person has been identified as Meisnam Geetchandra (38) of Khurai Konsam Leikai. Acting on credible inputs and with the support of members of a local civil society organisation, a police team from Porompat police station apprehended him at Khurai Sajor Leikai.

During the operation, the team recovered 23,304 Tramadol tablets, 1,390 Nitrapal tablets, and 1,383 bottles of Bercodex syrup, which police described as a significant seizure in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in the state.
