Imphal, September 17: Surity Forces and Manipur Police launched multiple successful operations across the state on Tuesday, apprehending cadres from different banned outfits and seizing a large cache of arms, ammunition, and incriminating materials.

In the first operation, Security Forces apprehended three cadres of KCP (PWG) from Lilong Bazar under Lilong Police Station, Thoubal district. The arrested cadres have been identified asMd . Shagir Khan (28) of Khabeisoi Maning, Imphal East district; Thanshok Awungshi Shimray (37) of Khangkhui Khunou village, Ukhrul district and Oinam Amitkumar Singh (28) of Khurai Top Khongnang Makhong, Imphal East district.

Based on their disclosure, Security Forces recovered arms and ammunition from Nongpok Keithelmanbi area, including:
i. 01 (one) M16 rifle,
ii. 04 (four) INSAS rifles,
iii. 04 (four) SLR rifles,
iv. 02 (two) .303 rifles,
v. 382 (three hundred eighty-two) rounds of ammunition of different calibers, and
vi. 26 (twenty-six) magazines of different arms.

In a separate operation under Keibul Lamjao Police Station, Bishnupur district, Security Forces arrested two active cadres of PLA, identified as Salam Brojen Meitei @ Amujao @ Chamba (41) of Thanga Heisnam Leikai, A/P Thang Haoreng Chingyang Leikai, and Oinam Mani Singh @ Melei (42) of Thanga Chingkha Khomlai Leikai. From their possession, two mobile phones were seized.

Further, Security Forces also arrested two active cadres of UNLF (Koireng) from Khangabok near District Hospital under Thoubal Police Station, Thoubal district. They were identified as Huidrom Sangba (40) of Khurai Salangthong, Imphal East district, and Ningombam Birban Meitei (43) of Churachandpur Khumujamba Meitei Leikai, A/P Heirok Part-III, Ngarouthel.

Items seized from them included:
i. 01 (one) Mahindra Bolero (white in colour),
ii. 01 (one) Aadhaar card,
iii. 02 (two) mobile phones,
iv. 03 (three) Airtel SIM cards,
v. 01 (one) ATM card, and
vi. 01 (one) vehicle registration certificate.

In another coordinated action, Manipur Police arrested three active cadres of KCP (PWG) involved in extortion activities and coercion of bank officials to provide loans to beneficiaries. They were identified as Thangjam Yaiphaba Meitei (31), Sanjrambam Loha Meitei (29) — both of Yumnam Patlou, Mamang Leikai, Imphal East district, arrested from Khabam Lamkhai Bazar, Imphal East district, and Tonjam Hemon Singh (46) of Tangkham Maklha Leikai, Imphal East district, arrested from Hatta Kangjeibung, Imphal East district.

From their possession, the following were recovered:
i. 03 (three) mobile phones along with SIM cards,
ii. 02 (two) wallets,
iii. Rupees 45 in currency notes,
iv. 06 (six) drafted letterheads of KCP (PWG) addressed to Managers of various banks in Greater Imphal area,
v. 09 (nine) envelopes addressed to various bank managers,
vi. 01 (one) seal bearing imprint of KCP (PWG),
vii. 01 (one) seal bearing imprint “Chief of Finance People’s War Group”,
viii. 02 (two) Aadhaar Cards, and
ix. 02 (two) black sling bags.
