IMPHAL, Nov 8: Security Forces and Manipur Police have stepped up operations across the state, apprehending multiple insurgent cadres and a drug peddler in Imphal East and Thoubal districts, while ensuring safe passage of essential goods along National Highway 37.
On Friday, a joint team of Security Forces arrested Phanjoubam Thajamanbi Devi (22), an active cadre of the proscribed outfit PREPAK, from her residence in Andro Kharam Leikai under Andro Police Station, Imphal East. Authorities seized three mobile phones and an Aadhaar card from her possession.

On the same day, Manipur Police arrested Konthoujam Rajen Singh (48) of Huikap Makha Leikai and recovered approximately 6 kg of contraband ganja.
Earlier, on November 6, two cadres of the RPF/PLA were apprehended from Imphal East district. Laishram Kishan Singh (31) of Heirok Part-II, Thoubal district, was arrested at Khurai Lamlong Bazar under Porompat Police Station, while Selheibam Joysana Meitei (48), alias Joymani, a self-styled Major, was nabbed from Andro Uchon Mayai Leikai, Porompat.
Recovered items included a .38 pistol with three live rounds, two four-wheelers, two mobile phones with SIM cards, two wallets, and cash totaling ₹60,300. Police stated the arrested individuals were involved in multiple extortion cases targeting schools, brick farms, hospitals, and pharmacies in the Imphal East area.
