Manipur: Security Forces Arrest Three Insurgents in Coordinated Operations, Recover Arms and Ammunition

Imphal, September 11: In a series of coordinated operations across Manipur, security forces apprehended three active cadres belonging to different proscribed insurgent outfits on September 10, and seized arms, ammunition, and incriminating items.

The first arrest was carried out at Tingri Lamkhai under Sekmai Police Station in Imphal West district. Security forces apprehended Khundrakpam Malangba Singh alias Tikenjit (50) of Awang Wabagai Awang Leikai, who was identified as an active member of the Revolutionary People’s Front/People’s Liberation Army (RPF/PLA).

A Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) cadre, Ningthoujam Sunil Singh alias Salai (28), was apprehended at Wangkhei Andro Parking in Imphal East. A mobile phone and wallet were seized from him.

In a separate operation in Bishnupur district, forces detained Oinam Naobi Meitei alias Bikendra (29), a cadre of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF-Koireng), from his residence at Sunushiphai Awang Leikai under Moirang Police Station. A mobile phone with a SIM card was recovered from his possession.

Later in the evening, another arrest was made in Imphal West district. Security forces apprehended Lanpoklakpam Sanatomba Singh alias Ibungo (41), an active cadre of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), from his residence at Langthabal Kunja Mayai Leikai under Singjamei Police Station. During the operation, the forces recovered one 9mm pistol with magazine, a mobile phone, and a SIM card.
