IMPHAL, Nov 4: Security forces in Manipur carried out targeted search and area control operations across vulnerable hill and valley districts, leading to a significant seizure of arms and ammunition in Aigejang village and Uyok Nalla, Bishnupur District.
The recovered items included one SLR rifle, one sniper rifle, two bolt-action rifles, a 9mm pistol with an empty magazine, five HE No. 36 hand grenades, 18 rounds of live ammunition, three wood-piercing tear smoke shells, four anti-riot rubber bullets, three tear smoke shells, five soft-nose tear smoke shells, two stun grenades, two tear smoke grenades, one WT set, three bulletproof vests, and two plastic sacks.

Meanwhile, in a separate action against illegal liquor production, Manipur Police raided a brewing site at K Vangphai Village, Churachandpur District. They dismantled the setup and detained two individuals involved in producing DIC (Distilled Indigenous Country) liquor, seizing a four-wheeler vehicle.
Another raid at LFC Inn led to the arrest of the inn’s owner and confiscation of about 1,500 liters of DIC liquor and 500 cans of beer, all of which were disposed of by authorities.
