IMPHAL, Dec 31: Security forces in Manipur conducted extensive search and area domination operations in the fringe and vulnerable regions of the hill and valley districts, resulting in the recovery of a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and other items. The operation took place along Sagaishabi Road, also known as Konchak Yangbi Road, in the Imphal West District.
The seized items included two 9 mm pistols with magazines, one carbine with a magazine, a modified .303 rifle fitted with a scope sight, three single-barrel guns, twelve rounds of 9 mm ammunition, two single-barrel rounds, four hand grenades, a smoke grenade, and a Baofeng wireless set.
In a separate development, the Manipur Police Control Room facilitated the movement of 426 vehicles transporting essential supplies along National Highway-2 (NH-2). To maintain law and order, stringent security measures have been put in place, including the deployment of security convoys along sensitive stretches of the highway.
