Manipur: Security Forces Recovered Huge Cache of Arms and Stolen Vehicles in Search Operations

IMPHAL, March 22: Security forces in Manipur carried out extensive search operations and area domination exercises in vulnerable areas of both hill and valley districts, leading to the recovery of a significant amount of arms, ammunition, and stolen vehicles.

The operation targeted areas prone to illegal activities, resulting in the seizure of a variety of weapons and ammunition from the Zero Point N. Boljang village track, about 5 kilometers north of COB Kotlen under the New Keithelmanbi Police Station in Kangpokpi District. Among the items recovered were two 7.62 mm SLR rifles with magazines, a .22 mm country-made pistol with magazine, an improvised mortar (Pompi), two country-made pull mechanism rifles, six mortar bombs, eight rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, and a Motorola (Baofeng) handset.

In a separate development, on March 21, 2025, Manipur Police recovered two vehicles suspected to have been stolen. These were found in Ushoipokpi along NH-102 under the Lilong Police Station in Thoubal District. The recovered vehicles include a white Maruti Swift ZXI and a grey Maruti Swift VXI, with their respective registration and chassis numbers provided.
