SENAPATI, April 5: The Manipur State Level Open Wrestling Championship 2025 is scheduled to be held at the Senapati district headquarters from April 29 to May 2, 2025. The event is being organized by the Senapati District Wrestling Association, Manipur (SDWAM) and will feature competitions across four categories: above 70 kg, below 70 kg, 14–15 years, and 16–17 years.
The association expressed delight in announcing the championship and extended an open invitation to aspiring wrestlers from across Manipur to participate in this esteemed sporting event.
To promote and reward excellence in the sport, a cash prize of ₹1 lakh will be awarded to the winners in the open categories (above and below 70 kg), while ₹70,000 will be given to the runners-up. Additionally, consolation prizes, including cash rewards, certificates, and medals, will be presented to the two semi-finalists in each open category.
In the age-specific divisions (14–15 years and 16–17 years), the champions will receive ₹30,000, while the runners-up will be awarded ₹20,000. The semi-finalists in these categories will also be presented with consolation prizes, medals, and certificates.
The SDWAM further informed that application forms will be made available starting April 10, 2025, with the deadline for submission set for April 26, 2025.
