IMPHAL, Jan 6: Manipur police has informed that the case of two successive bomb explosion in Bishnupur district which injured two civilians has been forwarded to the National Investigation Agency, a statement said on Tuesday.
Police also said investigation and operational efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the blasts.
Police said on Monday morning, an IED exploded inside an unoccupied house followed by another IED explosion at the nearby area of Saiton Nganukon in which two civilians sustained injuries.
“The case has been forwarded to National Investigation Agency (NIA) for further investigation” it said.
Police also said senior police officers including Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Superintendent of Police of the district, visited the blast sites to take stock of the situation.
“Combing and search operations are being carried out in the adjoining areas and security has been strengthened to prevent any further escalation of violence” it said adding “investigation and operational efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the blasts.”
