IMPHAL, Nov 11: Security forces in Manipur have arrested an active cadre of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF-K) from Lamjao Makha Leikai, near Pukhri Achouba under Waikhong Police Station in Kakching district, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The militant, identified as Ningthoujam Inaocha alias Palor alias Pandamba (40), a resident of Heirok Part-II, Chingdompok in Thoubal district, was apprehended during a coordinated operation on November 9. According to security sources, Inaocha had been actively involved in extortion activities in the area, targeting local residents and businesses.
During the operation, forces recovered a .32 pistol with a magazine, three live rounds, a voter ID card, a mobile phone with two SIM cards, a purse containing ₹41,200 in cash, and a two-wheeler allegedly used by the suspect for movement.
The arrested cadre, along with the seized items, has been handed over to the concerned police authorities for further legal action and investigation.
