Tengnoupal, October 10: The Centre for Women and Girls (CWG), in collaboration with the Camp Management Committee (Relief Camp) and 3 Assam Rifles, observed World Mental Health 2025 at the ZEO Relief Camp in Tengnoupal District on Friday. The event, held under the theme “Access to Service – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies,” aimed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health, particularly for displaced persons living in relief camps.

Delivering the keynote address, Hechin Haokip, Executive Director of CWG, emphasized the significance of mental health in the face of crisis and displacement. She said, “The mind is a place too. A home can be destroyed, but mental health requires time, compassion, empathy, kindness, and care.” Haokip further stressed that mental health is a human right and a vital part of survival, recovery, and rebuilding. She urged the audience to recognize the importance of collective healing, stating, “Healing cannot happen in isolation. It happens when we feel seen, supported, and safe.”
